a) 1200 men = 60 days

1 men = 72000 days

According to question,

600 men left .

1 men = 72000 days

600 men provision day =

$\frac{72000}{600} days$

$120days$

b) 1200 + 800 men = 2000 men

1 men = 72000 days

for 2000 men, 72000 days /2000

= 72000/2000

= 36 days
