Given,

A garrison of 400 men had provisions per 30 days.

The provision lasted for 24 days

We have to find how many more mem arrived.

For we use the formula given below.

Formula:

M_{1} D_{1} =M_{2} D_{2}

Here,

M_{1} =400

D_{1} =30

M_{2} =?

D_{2} =24

Now we have to find the value of M_{2}

400\times 30=M_{2} \times24

1200=M_{2} \times24

M_{2} =\frac{1200}{24}

M_{2}=500

Therefore, 500 more men arrived in the garrison.
