A gas having a pressure of 750mm of Hg occupies a volume of 3 3 300 10  mm AT 520C. Find the volume of the same gas at S.T.P.

Answer:

P1=750,P2=760mm  

V1=76mL,V2=?

T1=27+273=300K , T2=273K

According to Gas equation, P1V1T1=P2V2T2 or V2=P1V1T2T1P2

V2=(750mm)×(76mL)×(273K)(300K)×(760mm)=68.25mL
