MM=2×VD

Molecular mass=2×128=256

Atomic mass of X= 256-64= 192

Note: This is the answer if X is an element. If X refers to a mathematical variable here, then the answer is- 256/64=4

Answer:

The value of X is 4.

Explanation:

The vapour density and the molecular mass of a gas are directly proportional to each other.

The molecular weight and vapour density are related by the expression

Molecular weight = 2 × Vapour density

Substituting the values in the above expression, we get

Molecular weight = 2 × 128

                             = 256

The atomic weight of S is 32.

Therefore, x = \frac{Molecular weight}{Weight of S2} = \frac{256}{32+32}

                     = 4
