When concentrated sulphuric acid is mixed with sodium chloride, it results in the formation of sodium bisulphate and the HCL gas.
The moist blue litmus turns red because HCL gas is acidic in nature.
NaCl+ H2SO4-> NaHSO4 + HCL
NaCl +H2S04->Na2SO4 +2HCL
In the first reaction, acidic salt is obtained while in the second reaction, neutral salt is obtained.
