Given:-

→ Initial volume of the gas = 200 mL

→ Initial temperature = 27° C

→ Initial pressure = 76 mm Hg

→ Final temperature = -3° C

→ Pressure remains constant.

To find:-

→ Final volume of the gas.

Solution:-

Firstly, let's convert the initial and final temperature from °C to K.

=> 0° C = 273 K

=> 27° C = 273 + 27

=> 300 K [Initial]

=> -3° C = 273 - 3

=> 270 K [Final]

Now, according to Charle's Law, we know that :-

V/T = V/T [Pressure is constant]

Where :-

V is initial volume of the gas.

T is the initial temperature.

V is the final volume of the gas.

T is final temperature.

Substituting the values, we get :-

=> 200/300 = V₂/270

=> 2/3 = V₂/270

=> V₂ = 270×2/3

=> V = 180 mL

Thus, required volume of the gas is 180mL .
