A gas occupies 3 litres at 0°C. What volume
will it occupy at -20°C, pressure remaining

It is given that,

V1=3litres,

T1=273k

T 2=253k

From the ideal gas equation,

pv=nRT

Here pressure is constant,

so v is directly proportional to T,

V1/v2 =T1/T2

3/x=273/253

on solving u get the solution as,

V2=2.78liters
