A gas occupies 50 mL at 50°C and 500 Torr. What pressure would the gas exert if its volume were held at 50 cm³ and its temperature raised to 100°C?

____________________

1 ml = 1 cm ³

V2 = 50 ml

V2 = 50 cm ³

T2 = 100 + 273

= 373 K

P2 = ?

___________________

V1 = 50 ml

T1 = 50 ° C

= 323 K

P1 = 500 torr

__________________

599 × 373 / 323 = 577.39

Formula used:

 \frac{P1V1}{T1}  =  \frac{P2V2}{T2}
