a gas occupies a volume of 2.4 litres at a pressure of 740 and name of Mercury keeping the temperature constant calculate its volume at a standard standard pressure

Since temperature is constant,
Pressure will be inversely proportional to volume .

given : P1 = 740mmHg P2 = standard pressure = 760mmHg

V1 = 2.4L

Thus

P1/P2 = V2/V1

V2 = (740/760)*2.4 = 2.34 L
