The new temperature of gas will be (c) 205 K

Explanation:

Given data:

Initial volume = 15 mL

Initial pressure = 740 mmHg

Initial temperature = 300 K

Final temperature = ?

Final volume = 10 mL

Final pressure = 760 mmHg

Formula:

P₁V₁/T₁ = P₂V₂/T₂

P₁ = Initial pressure

V₁ = Initial volume

T₁ = Initial temperature

P₂ = Final pressure

V₂ = Final volume

T₂ = Final temperature

Solution:

P₁V₁/T₁ = P₂V₂/T₂

T₂  = P₂V₂T₁  / P₁V₁

T₂  =  760 mmHg ×10 mL ×300 k / 740 mmHg×15 mL

T₂  = 2280,000 K / 11100

T₂  = 205.4 K
