a gaseous mixture contains 50% helium and 50% methane by volume. What is the percentage by mass of methane in the mixture?

hell... ooo..!!

Molar and volume ratios will be same 1 : 1

therefore..  Mass of 1 mole CH4CH4 and HeHe will be 16 and 4g respectively.

Percentage by mass of CH4=MassofCH4TotalmassCH4=MassofCH4Totalmass×100×100

=1620=1620×100×100

=80%
