Modern DNA technology is helpful to farmers:
A gene for disease resistance in fir trees is transferred to pine trees using modern DNA technology. When the disease resistance gene of fir tree is placed in pine tree, the pine tree gets the ability to resist the disease attacking it. As a result of this process, the pine tree may grow very well and it may lead to increase in yield as well as reduction of loss to the tree farmers.
Due to high growth of pine tree, the industries which use the pine tree as raw material may buy it from tree framers at good price and the finished product may also be sold in cheap rate.
