A General arranges his soldiers in rows to form a perfect square. He finds that in doing so, 60 soldiers are left out. If the total number of soldiers be 8,160 find the number of soldiers in each row

Firstly,

Total no of soldiers - no. of soldiers remaining

= 8341-60

=8281

Thus, (no.of rows)^2=8281

= No.of rows= √8281

= No.of rows= 91

So the no.of soldiers in each row is 91 as no.of columns and no. of rows are same.
