Solution :-

To find the number of soldiers, we will have to calculate the square root of 7500 and the remainder will be subtracted from 7500. The number we get after subtracting will be the required number of soldiers left out.

86

_______

166 | 1100

| 996

|_______

104 ⇒ Remainder

_________

Now, we will subtract 104 from 7500 to get the number of soldiers left out.

7500 - 104 = 7396

7396 is square of 86.

So, 104 soldiers were left out.
