Answer:

Energy = Power × Time

= 2 kW × 1/4 hour

= 0.5 kWh

= 0.5 unit

Cost = 0.5 unit × ₹4 /unit = ₹2

Answer:

Explanation:

Given that,

Power of geyser = 200 W

Voltage = 240 V

Time = 1 hr

Cost of electricity = 3.50 ₹

We need to calculate the energy consumed

Using formula of energy consumed

E_{c}=pt

Put the value into the formula

E_{c}=200\times1

E_{c}=0.2\ kWh

We need to calculate the energy consumed in 30 days

Using formula of energy consumed

E=E_{c}\times\text{days}

Put the value in to the formula

E=0.2\times30

E=6\ kWh

We need to calculate the cost of electricity

Using formula of cost of electricity

\text{total cost}=E\times\text{cost}

Put the value into the formula

\text{total cost}=6\times3.50

\text{total cost}=21\ rupees

Hence, The total cost is 21 ₹.
