A geyser is rated '1500 W, 250 V'. This geyser is
connected to 250 V mains. Calculate :
(i) the current drawn,
(ii) the energy consumed in 50 hours, and
(iii) the cost of energy consumed at 4.20 per​

Solution 1 :-

Here,

Power consumed by geyser = 1500W

A geyser is connected to = 250V

As we know that,

Current = Power / Voltage

Put the required values,

Current = 1500 / 250

Current = 6A

[ A denotes Ampere which is a SI unit of current ]

Solution 2 :-

Now, we have to find energy consumed in 50hours .

As we know that

Energy consumed = Power * Time

Put the required values,

Energy consumed = 1500 * 50

Energy consumed = 75000Wh

Energy consumed = 75Kwh or 75 unit.

Solution 3 :-

Here, we have to find the cost of energy consumed.

The cost of energy consumed in 1 unit = Rs 4.20

Total Energy consumed = 75 unit

Therefore,

Cost of energy consumed = 75 * 4.20 = 315 .
