A giant wheel in a fair had a diameter of 250 feet. What is the distance a person travel in one complete revolution

distance travelled by a person = circumference of the faint wheel

circumference = π x d

π = 3.14

d = 250

circumference = 3.14 x 250

= 785

distance travelled by person = 785 cm or 7.85 m

Diameter = 250 feet = 76.2 m

radius = d/2 = 38.1 m

we know, circumference of circle = 2πr

∴2 × 3.14 × 38.1 m = 239.268 m

ANS. distance traveled by a person in one revolution = 239.268 m
