Answer

Let the total numbers of sweet she was having be 'x'

Half of the sweets she had, were distributed in the class .

Sweet distributed in class :

 \bf\frac { x } { 2 }

Hence remaining sweet will be :

 \rm x - \frac { x } { 2} = \frac { x } { 2}

Three-fourth of the remaining were distributed in the bus

Sweet distributed in bus :

 \rm \frac { 3 } { 4} ×\frac { x } { 2 } = \frac { 3x } { 8 }

Hence remaining sweets will be :

 \rm \frac { x } { 2} -  \frac { 3x } { 8 } = \frac { x } { 8 }

According to the question 20 sweets are remaining now. So,

 \rm \frac { x } { 2 } = 20

ᐅ x = 40

Thus the total number of sweets she originally having was '40'
