A girl has pile of four books on the desk the thickness of the books are 22mm,13mm,39mm, and 18mm. Can the pile fit on the shelf of 10cm high? If so calculate the length of the space left

We know that ,

1cm = 10 mm

So

10cm = 10×10

= 100mm

Let's add all books together to get the height of the pile of books

22mm+13mm+39mm+18mm

= 35 mm + 57mm

= 92mm

This means

100 mm > 92 mm

Area in shelf > pile of books .

Simple common sense , it can fit in shelf obviously .

So ,

Answer = yes
