Then the age of the daughter =x-27.

Age of father after 3 yrs. = x+3

Age of daughter after 3 yrs. = x-27+3=x-24yrs.

Sum of ages = x +3 +x -24=2x -21.

So,

Atq, 2x -21=51.

or 2x =51+21

or 2x = 72

Therefore x =36.

Age of father =x =36yrs.

Age of daughter = x-27 =36-27=9 yrs.
