the girl is 28 years younger than her father.
let the age of her father be x.
therefore her age is x - 28.
sum of theirs age = 50
=> x + ( x - 28 ) = 50
=> x + x - 28 = 50
=> 2x - 28 = 50
=> 2x = 50 + 28
=> 2x = 78
=> x = 78/2
=> x = 39
hence, age of her father = x
= 39 years
her age = x - 28
= 11 years
VERIFICATION :-
sum of their age = 39 + 11
= 50 years
hence verified
