A girl is learning tqo ride a cycle. She is cycling on a rectangular path with length of 50 m and breadth of
25 m. She starts from one comer and completes two rounds. During the third round she gets tired and
covers only half the distance Calculate the total distance covered and the displacement after two and
half rounds
of time it is said to be moving with uniform

Explanation:

perimeter of rectangle =2(l+b)

length =50m

breadth =25m

perimeter of one round = 2×50+25=125.

perimeter of two round =125×2=250

perimeter of half round=perimeter of one round÷2

=125÷2=62.5

perimeter of two and half round =250+62.5=312.5m

displacement =half round =62.5

Answer:

The total distance covered and the displacement after two and

half rounds covered by the girl are 225m and 75m respectively.

Explanation:

The perimeter of the rectangle is calculated as,

\mathrm{P=2(l+b)}                   (1)

Where,

P=perimeter of the rectangle

l=length of the rectangle

b=breadth of the rectangle

From the question we have,

The length of the rectangle=50m

The breadth of the rectangle=25m

The perimeter of one round(P) \mathrm{=2(50+25)=150\ m }

The perimeter of two rounds =150×2=300m

The perimeter of half round=\mathrm{\frac{P}{2} =\frac{150}{2}=75 \ m}

The perimeter of two and a half rounds =150+75=225m    (total distance)

The displacement will only be of half round =75m

Hence, the total distance covered and the displacement after two and

half rounds covered by the girl are 225m and 75m respectively.
