a girl is taking her dog for a walk they walk 5 km due north and then turn around and walk 12km due south a) what is the total distance they travelled b) what is their displacement c) what displacement they have to walk to get back to their starting point

Total distance=actual path covered=5+12=17km

Displacement=shortest distance between final and initial points=12-5=7km

To get back to initial position they will hv to walk another 7kms due North
