A girl observed the surface of a leaf under the microscope and found tiny pore-like structures. what were these structures? how do they help the plant in respiration?

The tiny pore like structures found on the leaf of tree is known as stomata . It opens and close to allow the intake of carbondioxide and release oxygen.
