A girl walks 200 towards East and the she walks 150m towards North. Find the distance of the
girl from the starting point.

We are given that A girl walks 200 towards East i.e. AB = 200

We are also given that she walks 150m towards North. i.e.BC = 150

To find AC we will use Pythagorean theorem

Hypotenuse^{2} =Perpendicular^{2} +Base^{2}

AC^{2} =BC^{2} +AB^{2}

AC^{2} =150^{2} +200^{2}

AC^{2} =22500+40000

AC^{2} =62500

AC =\sqrt{62500}

AC =250

Thus the  the distance of the  girl from the starting point is 250 m.
