Solution :

Given ,

  • Area of her heel = 1 cm²
  • Force exerted by her heel = 20 N

We need to find ,

  • Pressure exerted by the girl on the ground = ?

As we know that ,

P = F/A

Where ,

  • P → pressure = ?
  • F → force = 20N
  • A → Area = 1 cm²

Firstly , we need to convert the units to S.I. units

However , by the given information force is already in S.I. units ( Newton )

1cm²

1cm² = 1/0000 = 0.0001

Substituting the values we have ,

⇒ P = 20/0.0001

P = 200000 pa

Hence , pressure exerted by the girl on the ground = 200000 pascal

Answer: A girl wearing a heel of area 1 cm square 'exerts a force of 20 N. The pressure on the ground is(a) 20 pascal.

Explanation:

Answer:

Thrust= 20 N

Area= 1 cm = 0.01m

Pressure= Thrust/Area

Pressure=20/0.01

Pressure=2000 pascal
