a girl weighing 50kg is standing on pencil heels, each having an area of cross-section of 1cm.square. An elephant weighing 200kg and whose foot covers an area of cross-section of 250cm.square standing on the floor. Which of the 2 exerts more pressure?Note: {Pressure=force/area, force=mass × acceleration due to gravity (i.e.10)}Also note that area of one shoe and leg is 1cm and 250cm sqaure respectively

obviously the girls pressure because of by less area (pencil heels)it leads to more pressure

Force exerted by girl
 = (50 X 10) / 2 X 0.01 X 0.01 (∵ Force is evenly distributed between 2 legs)
 = 2500000 N m⁻²

Force exerted by elephant
 = (200 X 10) / 4 X 2.5 X 2.5 (∵ Force is evenly distributed between 4 legs)
 = 80 N m⁻²

∴ Girl exerts more pressure.

Hope it helps you. :)
