\bigstar Given:-

  • Mass (m)= 60 kg

\bigstar To find:-

  • The pressure applied by the heel on the horizontal floor?

\bigstar Solution:-

~Radius

\qquad\tt{:\implies\: Radius =\:\dfrac{Diameter}{2}}

\qquad\tt{:\implies\: Radius =\:\dfrac{1.5\:\times\:10^{-2}}{2}}

~Pressure

Pressure is given by P = F/A

where

  • F = Force = mg
  • A = Area = πr²

so,

\qquad\tt{:\implies\:Pressure\:=\:\dfrac{Force}{Area}}

\qquad\tt{:\implies\:Pressure\:=\:\dfrac{mg}{\pi\:r^{2}}}

\qquad\tt{:\implies\:Pressure\:=\:\dfrac{60\:\times\:9.8}{3.142\:\times\:(\:0.75\:\times10^{-2}\:)^{2}}}

\qquad\tt{:\implies\:Pressure\:=\:3.32\:\times\:10^{6}\:Pa.}

. ° . Thus the pressure applied by the heel on the horizontal floor is

3.32 × 10⁶ pascal.
