Answer:

1. The gas liberated on heating a mixture of two salts with NaOH, give a reddish brown precipitate with an alkaline solution of K2Hgl4.

The aqueous solution of the mixture on treatment with BaCl2 gives a white precipitate which is sparingly soluble in concentrated HCl.

2. Lead nitrate and zinc nitrate can be distinguished by adding ammonium hydroxide to both.

When NH4OH is added to zinc nitrate, double precipitation reaction occurs giving white ppt of ammonium nitrate.

3. On performing the flame test salt P produces a lilac coloured flame and its solution gives a white precipitate with silver nitrate solution, which is soluble in Ammonium hydroxide solution.

Answer:

Chemical Test: Specific impurities are detected through chemical testing, and the manufacturer can utilize this knowledge to determine and address the sources of contamination. Particles, cloudiness, surface residue, and trace substances that were left behind from the production process are all examples of trace contamination.

1. When two salts are heated with NaOH, the gas that is released produces a reddish-brown precipitate that contains an alkaline solution of K2Hgl4. After being treated with BaCl2, the mixture's aqueous solution produces a white precipitate that is only weakly soluble in strong HCl.

2. Ammonium hydroxide can be used to separate lead nitrate from zinc nitrate. A twofold precipitation process results in a white ppt of ammonium nitrate when NH4OH is introduced to zinc nitrate.

3. When conducting the flame test, salt P emits a flame that is purple in color, and its solution yields a white precipitate that contains silver nitrate solution and is soluble in ammonium hydroxide solution.
