1) At the beginning of the follicular phase, the lining of the uterus (endometrium) is thick with fluids and nutrients designed to nourish an embryo. If no egg has been fertilized, estrogen and progesterone levels are low. As a result, the top layers of the endometrium are shed, and menstrual bleeding occurs.

2)The Mass of an object is constant whereas the weight of an object changes from place to place. The Mass of an object is actually the amount of matter it contains and it would remain the same unless there is a change in the amount of matter whereas the weight of an object is the force on it due to gravity.
