Saturated Hydrocarbons give blue flame whereas unsaturated hydrocarbons give yellow sooty flame.Naphthalene is an unsaturated hydrocarbon therefore emits yellow sooty flame.

But: even incomplete combustion of saturated hydrocarbons can also give yellow flame.
