A given mass of a gas occupied 143 cm cube at 27 degree Celsius and 700 mm HG pressure .What will be its volume at 300k and 280 mm HG pressure.

P1=700 mm hg            P2= 280 mm hg

V1=143 cm^3                V2=?

T1= 27 degree C          T2= 300 K

   = (273 + 27) K

   = 300 K

Since temperature remains constant, Boyle's law is applied here.

P1*V1=P2*V2

=> 700*143 = 280*V2

=> V2=700*143/280

=> V2= 715/2

=> V2= 357.5 cm^3 (Ans)
