a given number is increased by 25% and the resulting number is decreased by 25%. what is the net increase or decrease percentage in the number?

Let the given number be 100. ( i )
Then , according to question ,
it is increased 25%.

25% of 100 = 25
100 + 25 = 125
Hence the new resulting number is 125.

➡ the new resulting number is decreased by 25% .

hence , 25% of 100 = 25
125 - 25 = 100

.

THEREFORE , There is no net increase or decrease % in the number.

100 + 100 \times  \frac{25}{100} = 125
125-125×25/100=93.75
