So here we can say that total voltage across the given will remain same for all

so both the device will work at same voltage

here we know that total current

i = 8 A + 16 A = 24 A

total resistance of the wire is given as

R = \frac{2.95}{1000} (74) = 0.2183 ohm

now we have

V = 120 - 24(0.2183)

V = 114.76 V

Part b)

Power loss across the extension chord is given as

P = i^2 R

P = 24^2(0.2183)

P = 125.7 W
