Let the length of the wire be some x m.
Then the resistance is 1 ohm.
Since the resistance and length are directly proportional to each other then ,
when the length gets doubled then the resistance also gets doubled.
That is the new length of the wire is 2x m. Therefore,
the new resistance is 2 ohm.
