Here is your answer....
As we know that :
⚫. Resistance = Resistivity * length/ area
Now, we have when the wire is stretched to double it's length , the area of cross section gets reduced to half.
So, New Resistance = Resistivity * 2 * length/area/2
New Resistance = ( Resistivity * area/ length) * 4
So, when the wire is stretched double it's length , the resistance gets multiplied by 4 i.e, it becomes 4 times.
