a glass prism is able to produce a spectrum when a white light passes through it but a rectangular block of the same transparent glass does not produce any spectrum. Why?

  • Glass prism has Two triangles at different angles which produces dispersion
  • But in experiment of Glass prism if we keep an inverted prism next to erect prism then White light is reobtained
  • In ur question Rectangular block is nothing but mixing of an erect and an inverted Prism
  • So light Will not be dispersed
