Answer:

Glass is an insulator which can be charged by rubbing because charges remain static on its surface. Iron is conductor which cannot be charged by rubbing because charges instantly flow towards the earth by human body or flow towards the iron from earth to make it neutral. Therefore, iron cannot be charged by rubbing.

Answer :

A glass rod is an insulator. Hence, it doesn't transfer electric charge produced on its surface through our hand and the body to the earth. However,an iron rod is a good conductor of electricity. As soon as it gets charged by rubbing, the electric charges produced on its surface flow through our hand and body into the earth. Therefore, the iron rod remains uncharged.
