A goat eats away all leaves of a small plant (balsam).However in a few days, new leavescould be seen sprouting in the plant again. How did the plant survive without leaves?

Plants can survive with their roots and take the minerals from the soil and the plant remain healthy. So, that's why the plant that the goat has eaten still survive and new sprouts can be seen.
