A goat eats away all the leaves of a small plant (balsam) . However, in a few days, new leaves could be seen sprouting in the plant again. How did the plant survive without leaves?

Plants have a ability to survive without out leaves cause they get minerals picked up from the roots and water enough for the plant to survive until New leaves comes from the nodes of the plants .
