A goat eats away all the leaves of a small plant (balsam). However, in a few days, new leaves could be seen sprouting in the plant again. How did the plant survive without leaves?.

When the leaves were intact the food produced by it was not fully utilised a large part of ut was stored as starch(in most plants) in root(as in raddish),stem(as in potato), which is stored for survival of plant in unfavourable season

the balsam plant has green stem due to which if it is cut from top or leaves are picked up the plant photosynthisises by the stem
