A godown is 50m long,40m broad and 10m high.Find the cost of whitewashing its four walls and ceiling at Rs.20 per square metre.

Required area= Lateral surface area of cuboid+Area of ceiling = 2(l+b)h + (lxb)
=> 2(50+40)(10)+(50*40) = 1800+2000 = 3800m^2

Cost of whitewashing 1m^2 = Rs.20
Cost of whitewashing 3800m^2 => 3800*20 = Rs.76000

⠀⠀Area of 4 walls = 2(L+B) × H

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀= 2 ( 50 + 40 )

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀= ( 2 × 90 × 10 )m²

Area of celling = ( L×B )sq.unit
