a the piece of the gold is hot and metals expand on heating so when we hammer it changes its shape due to force and a property of metals known as malleability which is that metals can be beaten into shapes

We know that:-

1) Metal is a good conductor of heat.

2) Metal are malleability.

When we hammer so hot piece of gold while making an ornament as metal is a good conductor of heat when hitted it changes it shape and become malleable so it can be changed in any form.
