Stevenson is a well known celebrity of his time and he is ranked the 26th most translated authors in the world. Stevenson suffered from weak chests and cold climates when he was a childhood and it did continue even when he grew up.
Since he was not fit most of the time, his schoolings were delayed. However, his interests in stories were with him from a very small age and he used to recite stories to his mother even before of the age of seven.
Stevenson did his first publication when he was sixteen. He was a traveler and had traveled a lot. His travels gave him the ideas for writing and the subject that he was always in the look out for.
