Not having government is like playing a games without referees. It worked for early humans until they confronted challenges that threatened their survival. This included flooding, fire, attacks from surrounding tribes, etc. What is interesting that leaders were selected to lead temporarily and once the threat is dealt with, then everyone went back to doing their daily work! With the complexities of societies today, it would be nasty, brutish, and short!
