a grain merchants sold 600 quintals of rice at a profit of 7% if a quintal of rice cost him rupees 250 and is total overhead charges for transportation etc. were rupees 1000 find his total profit and the selling price of 600 kg of rice.

CP of 1 quintal rice = Rs 250
CP of 600 quintal rice = 250 × 600
= Rs 1,50,000

Now,extra money spent = 1000

Total CP = 150000 + 1000
=Rs 151000

Profit % = 7
Profit = 7/100 × 151000= Rs 10,570

SP = 151000 + 10570
= Ra 1,61,570
