Given:

⚫A grandfather is 10 times older than his granddaughter.

He is also 54 years older than her.

Let the present age of grandfather= x years.

Therefore,

Present age of granddaughter= x/10 years.

According to the question, we have:

$= > \frac{x}{10} + 54 = x$

Transposing 54 to R.H.S & x to L.H.S, we get;

$= > \frac{x}{10} - x = - 54 \\ \\ = > \frac{x - 10x}{10} = - 54 \\ \\ = > \frac{ - 9x}{10} = - 54 \\ \\ = > - 9x = - 540 \\ \\ = > x = \frac{ - 540}{ - 9} \\ \\ = > x = 60$

Therefore,

Present age of grandfather= 60 years.

Present age of granddaughter= x/10

=) 60/10

=) 6 years
