10 y = 54 + y

So, Age of grand father = 60 yrs

1.Grandfather is 10 times older than the grand daughter so
   x=10y
2.Grandfather is 54 years older than her so
   x=54+y
   substituting the values
    10y=54+y
    10y-y=54
    y=54/9
    y=6
therefore granddaughter's age is 6 years whereas grandfather is 6*10=60 years old/ grandfather is 6+54=60 years old
