Define x:

Let the grandson be x years old.

grandson = x

grandmother = 10x

-

She is 63 years older:

10x - x = 63

-

Solve x:

10x - x = 63

9x = 63

x = 7

-

Find their present age:

grandson = x = 7

grandmother = 10x = 10 (7) = 70

-

Answer: The grandson is 7 years old and the grandmother is 70 years old.

Heya !!

Let the present age of grandson be X years.

Age of grandmother = 10X.

According to the question,

10X = X + 63

10X - X = 63

9X = 63

X = 7 years.

Present age of grandson = X = 7 years.

And,

Present age of grandmother = 10X = 70 years.
