Given : A graph

A rectangle ABCD

E = ( 4 ,3)

The intersection points of two lines are said to be the integer points

To Find :  the probability of E with respect to the integer points in the rectangle ABCD

Solution:

rectangle ABCD

integer x coordinates are  1 ,2 , 3 , 4 and 5

integer y coordinates are  1 , 2 , 3 , 4

Hence Total points in rectangles ABCD =  5 * 4 = 20

( this includes point on rectangle ABCD also )

Probability of E = 1/20

If points are strictly inside rectangle ABCD ( on boundary not included)

integer x coordinates are   2 , 3  and 4

integer y coordinates are   2 , 3

Hence Total points in rectangles ABCD =  3 * 2= 6

( this does not includes point on rectangle ABCD also )

Probability of E = 1/6

Answer:

1/20

Step-by-step explanation:

the point E has only one integer point

and the total number of integer points in the rectangle is 20

so,P ( E) is 1/20
